Australia is one of the oldest continents and has been isolated from the rest of the Earths Land masses for a very long time. The lack of significant geological activities for vast periods of time has also seen the Australian Landscape heavily eroded without renewal. Australia lacks the towering mountain ranges of Europe, South America and Asia displaying a far more ancient landscape.
With the exception of Tasmania which is more prehistoric with it’s jagged glacial mountain ranges to the West, Mainland Australia is flat with influence from it’s ancient shallow seas that flooded the continents interior for many millions of years.
These influences have also impacted on the animal and plant populations leading to a unique diversity of Flora and Fauna found nowhere else on the planet.
